A Quick Flit Around Room
Mini HEA for Will and I
After listening to Will's comments about the appearance of this blog, I've tidied this place up. Especially the links sidebar. :D I hope it looks simpler now. Anyhow, Will read my previous post and told me that I was idiotic for not being upfront. He freely admits to being a tad sensitive about my reactions, but I still should have come clean. Aww! The good news is we've agreed to adopt Amanda's suggestion - a notebook of books I'd dive off a cliff for. Yay! Thanks, Amanda! :D
Once Again, A Wild Dance Around the Bush
I was reading the latest RTB blog post half-way down when I realised where it was heading, I stopped there and left. Frankly I can't be arsed about it any more. It was an issue ten years ago and it's an issue today. Different lyrics, different singers, but same tune.
Whatever Happened To ...
While Berlin took me out for a walk around the park, I wondered what happened to these romance authors:
Kate Hathaway
Danielle Harmon
Rene Garrod
Susanna Kearsley
Ashley Snow
Tiffany White
Lauren Wilde
Sandra Canfield - I just remembered that she passed away after a long illness. :(
Susannah Leigh
Megan Chance - OK, OK, there is An Inconvenient Wife, but dammnit, she can't be that much of a slow writer? I really dislike it when authors' web sites aren't regularly updated, not even monthly. What is the point of having a web site if it can't be updated? *whine, whine*
Anyhow, I'm currently reading Lucy Monroe's Willing. Am I right in thinking that it's part of a series? If so, what are the titles [in order, if poss, please]? I found a couple of vague references a bit distracting, just enough to take a break to write this. :D
Be good, be bad & be safe.

I believe Lucy Monroe's books are READY/WILLING/AND ABLE. Gah! Mozilla isn't letting me add line breaks, so this will be a paragraph with no coherent structure. I also can't even come up with a response to RTB today (not that I ever reply anyway, but just look from afar and loftily smirk (or something snotty like that, but it's really laziness)). There's got to be more important stuff to talk about, like how very hot Vampire Hunter D is, and my brand new obsession that will soon have me in the poorhouse. Alas.

1. Amanda's system sounds great, of course it wouldn't work for us, my DH would die before buying romances, for him it would be like buying tampons--but he's quick with gift cards, so I can't complain.
2. I allowed myself to get sucked into that RTB thing today--it annoys me to no end. I'm done, I swear.
3. I'm sorry to hear about Sandra Canfield, she was a favorite way back when.

Not only do I get gift cards from Bob. I get them from the cats and dogs and all members of his family. They always say, can't we get you something else? Uh, NO!
Have Will read my Valentine's Day post to see what true disappointment is ;)
Have we met Berlin before? Is he a puppy? Is he new or have I just been sleeping.
Arnette Lamb was an author who wrote some beautiful books but I know she passed. Some of those authors sound familiar but I am clueless as always.
Oh, and I managed to spew over at Tara Marie's blog. Ooops. Maybe I should just blog my thoughts but I have done that before.

*blushing* Sorry about the spelling. I need more coffee.

Thank God you didn't ask happened to Elizabeth Elliot.

Awww...that was nice of Will. Don't you sometimes find it amazing what can be worked out when you think it never will?
Or the misunderstandings that arise when both are assuming things? - er, well, from my experience anyways.
The series is Ready, Willing, and And Able. I enjoyed Ready and have Willing on hold at the library. I keep meaning to buy it, but I haven't. So from the library it will be.

What happened to them? I'm sitting here trying to figure out if I've ever even heard of any of them. Although Susannah Leigh is vaguely familiar, very vaguely, the rest are complete blanks. I know my memory isn't that bad. Abscure British authors, maybe?
And I'm so proud of you gals for finally waking up on the review thing . . .
Ahem. Hehehe, buy hey, I don't feel quite so lonely any more. (VBEG)

I can't believe I misspelled "obscure" like that.

MAILI POSTED ON MY BLOG!
She's BACK! Maili is back. Thank the good lord!

Meljean - cheers for the titles. Mozilla won't let you break lines? Weird. It should. Which version are you using?
Tara Marie - 1. Yeah, Will's a hero in that department. I think he'd rather buy books than tampons, though. Wuss. 2. Oh, no, what you said so far makes absolutely sense to me, so thank you. 5. Me, too. Canfield and Fay Robinson - as I understand, both died from cancer [I may be wrong, though]. It's such a pity.
CindyS - Have I already told you that you're one lucky mite? :) I've mentioned Berlin a few times on this blog last two or three years, so yeah, you must have slept. :D He's named after Eddie Berlin the hero from Theresa Weir's COOL SHADE, and he is absolutely adorable and dearly good-natured, but sadly, not very bright. Our cats unfortunately know this and they regularly - and ruthlessly - exploit it.
Amanda - morning! Now it's evening, so I'll say good evening!
Nicole - that's true. :D READY is worth getting? Should I stop reading WILLING and read READY first? I do like read in order, but if there is no overall arc, then I'd not mind reading out of order.
Bev BB - lol! They all are American romance authors. Susannah Leigh wrote a few exotic adventure historical romances during late '80s and early '90s. Oh, wait. Oh, no. It's not her. I'm thinking of Virginia something? *muses* re: reviews, oh, I understood and agreed with what you said before. :) Abscure? *evil grin*
Kate R - hey, I returned a month ago!
2/24/2006 07:31:00 pm
Um, yes, technically you returned a month ago, Maili, but you know very well that until you've posted several times in one day your loyal fans, er, friends aren't going to believe it's really real . . . (evil grin)

So I take it that means no more Scottish Highland books then.
And Danelle Harmon isn't writing these days :( She has a website where she explains http://www.danelleharmon.com/
And I laughed at Sandy's post :)
2/25/2006 03:15:00 am
Bev BB - what is that noise I'm hearing? *pause* Oh, it's you. Go away, you smart alec.
Kristie J - Yay! No more "Scottish Highland" books!! :D Thanks for the URL. I didn't know she has a web site.
Sandyl - I'm sorry I didn't see your response until I saw Kristie J's comment. That comment has me ROTFL. :D I'm pretty convinced that it's the author or one of her hardcore fangirls who posts that monthly enquiry. It's just too weird to have her name, long after her books went OOP, to crop up so often and for so long.
2/25/2006 02:18:00 pm
Well, I liked Ready, so you might want to wait.
2/25/2006 07:42:00 pm
I want to know what Megan Chance is up to, as well. She wrote some of my favorites and she's such a smart cookie, I miss reading her.
